28.01.2001 TERORISM

Election time is here. People have become aware.....it seems..... Turnout din't reflect it though...
May be the long weekend outing was too good to resist......

It was felt that the TAJ Attack in MUMBAI...the financial hub....the financial capital..... had made people AWARE of their empowerment..... made them WAKE UP......

There are so many expectations from MUMBAI .... after all the voter list here contains the names of Industrialists....Film personalities....Sports Personalities.....other emminent professional in various fields..... more than any other part of India.....security issue...terrorism issue..... I felt was BIG one..... I noe 70% of voters in Mumbai are slum dwellers..... but still.....from slumdogs to millionaires ( no offence meant)....... it did affect a lot of people.....

Had written a poem in 2001... on the 11th Sept attack then..... echoes the feeling everytime... the parliament attack...... the various Bomb Blasts in Trains.... to the latest TAJ ATTACK.....
Here it goes....

Terrorism is now no longer a localised threat,
Plaguing a few countries while the rest are safely left.
But it has now become a global issue,
For the millions of eyes full of tears we have hardly any paper of tissue.

The Black Tuesday of America, don’t you remember?
When the most audacious terrorist attack tend to tremble the world on 11th September
The peace of the whole world was shattered by a terrorist’s diktat.
And what more I felt as if he broke & ate humanism as a kitkat.

Now, what is terror? Can’t we see it or hear?
Evreryone has his own definition though dictionary describes it as extreme fear.
This hour of tragedy does not call upon us only to commiserate
Then what!!
This growing menace of terrorism we have to eradicate.

It seems as if moral & ethical values of life have lost somewhere
In this materialistic world we cam hardly find it anywhere.
On the world’s horizon the clouds of evil loom large,
It is not time for us that against each other we, allegations, charge,

But the hour has certainly arrived
Above all wordly distinctions we have to rise
& unite ourselves
Not against a person, nation or religion
But against all evils like terrorism.
